I was pleased to be approached by the Plymouth Magazine for and interview and article about my business. Click here to have a look!
I LOVE HENNA!
It has helped me claim my title, Artist, in a way none of the many other mediums before it did. It has provided an outlet for my entrepreneurial spirit that I never could have imagined as I was falling in love with this very special plant. It has brought me into communities that enrich my life greatly. Henna is a huge blessing to me.
And to my family. My daughter is an excellent artist and a hard worker, and she joins me in the booth and at events often. My son is an excellent booth manager and takes care of the artists and the customers in his calm and caring way, often regaling us with beautiful acoustic guitar in the cool mornings. My younger son is learning the business as well, and will soon be offering glitter tattoos in my booth.
And this weekend, my niece joined the fun for the first time at a super busy festival. She is a natural and did an excellent job managing all the things! It was so fun to spend time with her in that context and to enjoy her presence.
I'm so happy that this little plant became an integral part of my life ten years ago, and subsequently has blessed the whole family!
I am excited to announce 8 Tuesday afternoon/evenings this summer I will bring my booth to the Minnetonka Farmers Market! This market has 25-30 vendors weekly, with music and children's activities. There are beautiful walking trails nearby. The market is located just 12 miles west of downtown Minneapolis at the Minnetonka Civic Center Campus Ice Arena B parking lot at 14600 Minnetonka Blvd. I will be there June 13,20,27, July 11,25 August 1, 22, and September 5. Come get some wonderful fresh and locally grown produce, some yummy treats, and some gorgeous henna!
My kids and I had a fun time with Blurberrybuzz and her kids vending henna, face paint and glitter tattoos at the Wizard World Comic Con at the Minneapolis Convention Center this past weekend.
I really have to up my costume game--the people watching is excellent at this event! Emmett was Frankenstein and Arthur Weasley, and Clara was a young lady from Hufflepuff House. Our costumes are put together at the last minute with a little face paint thrown in for good measure, but still fun!
I enjoyed several repeat customers, as this is the 4th year we've done the event, and met lots of new and fun people.
I have four kids, and for them this time of year is full of emotion. Looking forward to family break time, and saying goodbye to the current school year and all the people that came with it. For me now, as they grow older and begin to move on, nostalgia is strong and sweet.
It is a saving grace that the cusp of summer also means HENNA!! I've planned a busy summer of henna, and am looking forward to sunshine, festival music and food and seeing you all again soon! Click on the Upcoming Events link to find out where you can find me next.
